  • American Nurses Foundation (ANF) Research Grants Program- Each year, through our Nursing Research Grants program, ANF provides funds to beginner and experienced nurse researchers to conduct studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient care. Awards are given in all areas of nursing, including healthy patient outcomes, health care policy development, critical care, gerontology, women’s health, community and family intervention

  • American Society of Anesthesiologists- Information on research grant opportunities for healthcare providers.

  • Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses-Awards two different grants ($1,000 each) to APON members whose grant proposal is based on a clinical aspect of nursing care of children with cancer and/or their families.

  • Community of Science-An on-line database of research resources through which academic researchers publicize their activities. Searchable components include 1) listings of individual research EXPERTISE, 2) university facilities, programs, and SERVICES, 3) INVENTIONS and intellectual property, 4) RESEARCH PARKS, 5) institutional PROFILES, and 6) POSTGRADUATES.

  • Grant Writing Tips-Covers most aspects of the grant writing process in order to help nurse researchers, especially new ones, plan, write, and apply for the basic nursing research grant.

  • The Foundation Center-An independent nonprofit information clearinghouse for information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects. The homepage includes information on training and seminars at the Foundation's five center libraries; grantmaker information; funding trends and analysis; the fundraising process and the nuts-and-bolts of the funding research process, including FAQs, common grant application forms, and a Proposal Writing Short Course.

  • Funding information from the Bureau of Health Professions Grants Files -of the Health Resources and Services Administration at the Department of Health and Human Services. This page has application materials and funding notices.

  • Grant and Contract Information from the NIH-Extensive information about grants from the NIH. The information is updated frequently and can be searched using key words.

  • Grant Opportunities from the Fulbright Scholar Program.-This program awards grants to American students, teachers, and scholars to study, teach, lecture and conduct research abroad, and to foreign nationals to engage in similar activities in the United States.

  • Grant Select-More than 10,000 funding opportunities are contained in the GrantSelect database for a variety of disciplines including biomedical and healthcare. The database is available to subscribers only; a free 30-day trial period is offered on the site.

  • Health Links-The Grant Seeker Toolbox is a wealth of information including late breaking funding opportunities, major funding search tools and helpful articles and resources to help you get a grant.

  • Helene Fuld Health Trust-The Helene Fuld Health Trust is dedicated to the primary objective set by Dr. Fuld when it was established: the support and promotion of the health, welfare, and education of student nurses. The trust concentrates its grant making in the following three areas: Curriculum and Faculty Development in Community-based Care, Leadership Development and Educational Mobility.

  • The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-The nation's largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to health and health care. The foundation concentrates its grantmaking in four areas: assuring access to basic health services; improving the way services for people with chronic health conditions are organized and provided; reducing the harm caused by substance abuse; and helping the nation address the problem of rising health care costs.

  • Grants Net-GrantsNet is a tool for finding and exchanging information about HHS and selected other Federal grant programs. It is part of the much-publicized national movement toward providing government resources to the general public in a more accessible and meaningful manner.

  • HRSA Grants-These pages contain information about grants available from HRSA's Bureau of Primary Health Care, the Bureau of Health Professions, Bureau of Maternal and Child Health and the HIV/AIDS Bureau.

  • International Society For Heart and Lung Transplantation Nursing Research Grants- ISHLT issues at least one Nursing and Social Sciences Grant annually in an amount of up to $12,000. The funding period is for one year. The purpose of this award is to encourage qualified nurses, social scientists and other health care professionals to conduct research related to the areas of end-stage heart and lung disease and transplantation.

  • Environmental Protection Agency Grants-Information available from various departments within the Agency about research grants and graduate fellowships

  • Leukemia Foundation-A clearinghouse for leukemia info, including research grants, marrow drives and other events. 

  • National Association of Neonatal Nurses-Offers $10,000 grant awards for NANN members proposing research in specific neonatal interventions and outcomes or specific roles with particular interest in studies addressing cost, effectiveness, and quality issues.

  • National Institute Of Nursing Research-The National Institute of Nursing Research is a component of the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, the site if rich with information about grants & funding, program announcements, research & training.
  • National Library of Medicine-Grants

  • National Science Foundation-Valuable article about the Criteria for the Selection of Research and Education Projects. The Foundation lists numerous areas of research are available for funding

  • Frances G. Crane and Rita C. Kopf Memorial Nursing Research Grants-The Foundation Center for Nursing Research aims to improve nursing science and practice by supporting the conduct of nursing research and dissemination of research findings. The Center takes great pride in offering two nursing research grants made available annually. Awards $3,000 per each grant.

  • Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society (PENS)-Funds are available to members to support pediatric endocrinology nursing research projects. There are three levels of research grants for which applications are available through this site: a $2,000 award, a $5,000, and a $10,000 award for the more 'seasoned' researcher. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Grants Director at grants@pens.org.

  • Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Grants- Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society sponsors three grants and co-sponsors 11 other nursing grants through nursing association partners. Information about each grant as well as criteria and application information is available on the site.

  • Transcultural Nursing Society Research Award-The Transcultural Nursing Society has established two $1,000 annual awards to provide assistance to nurse researchers conducting investigations on phenomena related to transcultural nursing.
